Trails and Outdoor Recreation play a critical role in supporting healthy lifestyles for children and adults, reducing the likelihood of chronic disease and complications of chronic diseases like obesity and diabetes. They can also be a catalyst and hub for community and economic activity for residents and visitors. Learn how recreation infrastructure and programming, public health, and community economic development can come together to advance thriving communities. Presenters will examine the Indiana Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan’s methodology, public input surveys, results, and state-level planning challenges encountered along the way.
