This tour will include the PPL Center (focusing on the difficult task of
assembling the parcels into one cohesive unit), the development of the
various City Center Buildings, the Strata Flats apartment complex, and
how these structures have fit in so well in the existing downtown fabric.
Discussion will focus on building bridges between downtown and adjacent
neighborhoods and the design and planning strategies that create community
connections. Strategic stops along the way (such as the Strata Roof Deck, or if
weather does not permit, the lounge) will showcase before and after pictures
of the development as well as information booths set up by Goody Clancy and
Upside Allentown regarding the amazing revitalization that the City has seen
in recent years.
