The Lehigh Valley sidewalk and crosswalk inventory is the first of its kind for the region and
is intended to provide a regional assessment of sidewalk connectivity and accessibility. The
initial study effort utilized aerial imagery and field work to inventory sidewalks and marked
crosswalks. The results of this inventory were then analyzed against the regions trail system
and transit stop inventory to identify significant gaps. This report will lay the groundwork for a
future regional bicycle and pedestrian planning study and can be used to underpin a variety of
additional planning exercises. The results are publicly available through GIS and the program is
