Accelerated climate change in the Arctic is an increasingly significant issue with far-reaching impacts for every Alaskan community.  This interactive workshop will focus the role planners have to intentionally facilitate critically needed dialogue on the immediate and long-term impacts of climate change. Participants will come away with key methods and an awareness of the resources to use in working with communities and target audiences, especially rural and Alaska Native communities, on climate change education that can complement planning efforts. The workshop goal is to help planners to imbue climate change education and communication into existing planning initiatives.
