Overview

Consultant selection processes range greatly from agency to agency and questions regarding ethics have caused some agencies to adopt very stringent policies that may at times actually hinder the project development.  This presentation will discuss the various selection methods, the perspectives of selection from both public agency and consultant representatives, and the ethics of common practices in the selection and pre-selection processes.   The presentation will include discussion of APA approved practices and the AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

The intent of the session is to allow planners to gain a greater understanding of the ethics involved in consultant selection both for the consultant and agency planners.
