The session will open with highlights of pertinent activity at the 2017 Indiana General Assembly, including the development of the APA-IN Legislative Committee's tracking list, identification of bills that were filed, and discussion of ones that were or are anticipated to be signed into law and what their potential impacts on planners will be. Other legislative items of interest, including local transit funding referenda and a brief national legislative outlook, will be presented. 


The second part of the session will be a presentation of a Planning Law topic by Eric Damian Kelly. Eric will discuss addiction treatmet and recovery facilities and the Americans with Disabilities Act; Due Process in Zoning, with recent cases; The importance of exhausting remedies, with recent cases and statutory references.
