As is the case with many major military installations, tenant organizations often comprise a valuable installation pillar or anchor point. In the case of a few installations, we plan for legacy operations facilities, including flightlines, range training areas, and housing areas, but a great deal of current MILCON funding is going to fight the cyber war.
Installations are not always well-enough funded or do not have the intrinsic operational knowledge of tenant activities that allows for highly-effective tenant facilties layout for future missions and growth. This was the case at the Fort Gordon West District, where our collective team (Garrison DPW, NSA, Army Cyber, USACE and Consultants) led a highly-successful joint-service effort to execute a trio of forward-thinking development plans that will allow the most effective use of taxpayer resources for accomplishing the mission, now and into the future.
Our plans provide for significant growth of the cyber / technology mission at Fort Gordon West, and include looks at both vertical and horizontal facilities development, infrastructure, and logistics, all with an eye toward maximizing sustainability, resiliency, most importantly, effective mission execution.
