Overview

Our BMP toolboxes now typically include proprietary media filters, membranes, rain gardens, biofilters, and a variety of infiltration practices. To ensure proper functionality of these BMPs it is wise to understand filter fundamentals and apply them to their design. This presentation takes a close look at key variables like media gradation, hydraulic loading rate, longevity, reactive capacity and discusses how they influence filter performance.
