Historic houses exist in a context of neighborhoods. Without strong neighborhoods of engaged stakeholders, the preservation of individual structures is not likely to be a sustained activity. Speakers describe how municipalilites and non-profits work together in OKC to empower historic neighborhoods to become and remain active and engaged and how this leverages and supports continued preservation of individual structures throughout the city. City staff describes tools and best practices used in OKC's Strong Neighborhoods Iniative, a catalytic force behind the revitalization of three historic urban neighborhoods in OKC over the past 5 years.
