The Town of Telluride was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1961. This honor has beautifully preserved the downtown core and the historic residential neighborhoods . Come along as we explore the architectural and cultural history of this historic mining town. Cost: $25

This tour will focus on the unique history of Telluride, the story of how the town become a National Historic Landmark, and how historic preservation has been instrumental in the town’s economic development.

Kiernan Lannon has been the executive director of the Telluride Historical since May 2015. He possesses a Masters degree in History Museum Studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program for Museum Studies and over eleven years of experience in the museum/public history field with particular emphasis on local history programming.
