Overview

Join us in a mobile tour by bus of the Town of Telluride’s town financed owner occupied and rental affordable housing projects.  We will begin the tour on the east end of town showcasing a cluster of single family deed restricted homes, end on the west end of town showcasing a boarding house and apartment project – and everything in between.  Along the way we’ll discuss the town’ master planning principals around affordable housing, funding mechanisms and partnership opportunities. Cost $60

Learning Objectives:

1. How the Town of Telluride funds and constructs affordable housing projects.

2. Types of affordable housing projects (unit design, demographic, AMI (Area Median Income targets)

3. Better understand the town’s master planning strategies regarding Telluride’s affordable housing program

Colorado resort communities have meeting affordable housing demands in common, particularly over the past few years.  We will illustrate town financed projects, discuss how the town prioritizes, finances and constructs deed restricted housing.  We’ll also discuss the range of other affordable housing options, such as deed restricted mitigation units constructed and required by new construction.
