Overview

Many people are familiar with the International Building Code. But what about the International EXISTING Building Code? Join us and discover the enhanced flexibility of this building code and how it can provide for safe and more economically feasible redevelopment. This 1/2 day workshop is appropriate for large and small scale developers, architects, code officials, and others.  Presenters Richard Lambert, Chief Code Officer for the City of Saco and Paul A. Demers, Code Officer for the Town of Kennebunk. This workshop is co-hosted by Build Maine & MBOIA.

Learning Objectives:

1.       Developing an understanding of the Existing Building Code and how it is properly applied to a rehab project.

2.       Understand the difference between the Building Code and Existing Building Code.

 

3.       Be able to communicate clearly to others the benefits of the Existing Building Code.
