ISB Charrette: Making a Great Corridor Even Better

APA Florida Chapter

#9127745

Friday, September 8, 2017
2 p.m. - 5 p.m. EDT

Overview

Join futurist and global sustainability expert Hank Dittmar in a planning and design charrette with planners, students, and Daytona Beach’s ISB Coalition. The gateway entrance to Daytona Beach is International Speedway Boulevard.  Exciting development and redevelopment activities have occurred during the past decade but not on the east end of the corridor nearest the beach.  The City of Daytona Beach and ISB Coalition have pursued planning studies to redevelop the east end of ISB and the area surrounding it but the area has yet to attract viable redevelopment and remains unattractive and underutilized with nuisance uses. This interactive event will focus on this segment of US 92, a four-lane congested roadway serving the tourist center of Daytona Beach, and seek to devise creative, sustainable, and context-sensitive design solutions to meet community needs.
