Overview

Join members of the APA MN Legislative and Law Committee to hear highlights from the 2017 session of the Minnesota Legislature and United States Congress, discuss action steps to implement the chapter’s legislative policy platform, and receive an overview of two recent planning law cases in Minnesota and Wisconsin. n this session participants will:

• Learn about new laws affecting planners and the planning profession at the state and federal level, including an overview of the 2017 legislative session and the 115th Congress.

• Learn about the APA MN Legislative Policy Platform, and engage with one another on potential revisions and future action steps aimed at the long-term future of our communities and our profession, in keeping with the conference theme.

• Learn about two recent planning law cases in Minnesota and Wisconsin recently heard in the courts, including group discussion of their impacts on the planning profession.
