This panel will discuss effective planning techniques/practices for creating sustainable, vibrant agricultural industries in California's rural areas from a variety of perspectives.  Discussion will include techniques and practices such as advocating for local agricultural-friendly codes/laws, planning for adequate water and other necessary infrastructure, fostering agritourism, developing on-farm diversification towards other non-primary production activities, providing specialized training and recruiting for workers and tools for financial assistance.   Panelists will present case studies of successful agricultural enterprises and highlight the tools contributing to their successes.
