This bus and walking tour will provide tools utilized by the City of Woodland for effective revitalization of a historic downtown while stimulating economic development.  You will be touring several successful historic buildings which have been restored bringing sustainable economic growth to the downtown as well as learn as new projects underway including a boutique hotel.  The latest restoration project involved restoring a historic theater while expanding into a ten screen cinema to make it sustainable.  Participants will also learn how sustainable energy practices and the City’s  Climate Action Plan have resulted in major community energy saving projects included conversion of a downtown parking lot into a solar energy producing project.  There will also be a tour of the first zero-net energy affordable housing project in the nation.
