Overview

“‘Decades’ Exercise: An interactive workshop to look back at decades past, and look forward at alternative futures.  Based on future paradigms and uncertainties, what should we do today?”

Dr. Cindy Frewen will lead participants through a set of facilitated small ‘table-top’ group discussions about major characteristics and occurrences of decades past which have impacted urban growth.  Small groups will then look “forward” to a specified time horizon and discuss potential future scenarios, including: 1) ‘Business as Usual – Abundance’, 2) ‘Smart Growth’, 3) ‘Sustainable Shared Economy’, and 4) ‘Transformative Cities’.  Each group will discuss potential actions we should be taking today to adjust for these unknown/uncertain future paradigms.  “Report-outs” will be included at the conclusion of the small group discussions.
