Mobile Workshop - Attendees will walk throughout Naperville's Naper Settlment to learn about historic preservation efforts, implementation and community events/economic development.

Experience a special behind-the-scenes tour at Naper Settlement to learn how the Naperville community has addressed historic preservation at the local level. Hear about the inner workings of the successful public-private partnership between the City of Naperville and the Naperville Heritage Society while touring Naper Settlement, an accredited museum, and its 13-acre campus. In addition, workshop leaders will cover building preservation and applicable funding of projects, preservation methodologies, and its recent efforts to study the environmental impacts on historic structures and the materials housed within. Museum staff and Naperville planners will also discuss Naperville’s preservation ordinance and the role of the Historic Preservation Commission.
