Pedestrian Tunnels - The Mode of the Future

The presentation will discuss several existing and under construction pedestrian tunnel projects.  Lessons learned on the

projects highlighted will be discussed to enhance design effectiveness and constructability, reduce construction risks, and

         improve quality of delivery.

Evaluating the Summit Street Protected Bicycle Lanes

In November 2015, the first protected bicycle lanes in Columbus were opened to public travel on Summit Street between

11th Avenue and Hudson Street.  The presentation will focus on initial findings of a three-year evaluation study

underway related to the established criteria for effectiveness: levels of crashes, levels of bicycling and walking, and

interactions between people riding bicycles, people operating motor vehicles, and people walking/using mobility aids.

Cleveland's New Plan for Innovative Midway Cycle Tracks

A Midway Cycle Track is a two-way facility for exclusive use by bicycles. Cleveland developed  the innovative Midway

Cycle Track Plan to create a network of midway cycle track facilities to promote healthy living, enhance connectivity,

support equitable modal choice, and promote economic development, social cohesion, and placemaking throughout the

area. Design, planning, and corridor prioritization activities will be discussed.
