         Ohio STIC Funding

In 2017, all proposals selected for the Ohio STIC Innovative funding program were from agencies other than ODOT. This

presentation will provide an overview of the Ohio STIC, the Innovation funding process, its relationship to construction

practices in Ohio and information on selected proposals.

Best Practices of Road User Maintenance Agreements (RUMA) Amongst Local Government Agencies in Ohio

Recent innovations in the oil and gas industry has increased horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing activity in Ohio

resulting in a significant increase to truck traffic volume experienced on the local road and bridge system. Ohio Senate Bill

315 requires oil and gas well operators to demonstrate a good faith effort to enter into a RUMA prior to obtaining a

drilling permit. This presentation will demonstrate the findings of an ORIL research project that identified best practices

and recommendations for local officials working with RUMAs.
