Overview

This session will review the 2016 Downtown Toledo Master Plan which wa sundertaken as a collaborative and inclusive process, assembled by a broad coalition of public and private sector leaders. The plan created a community-driven vision for the future growth and revitalization of Downtown Toledo by cataloging existing conditions, demonstrating the economic rationale for investment, and recommending 12 Priority Action Items for implementation. Inspired by the Downtown Toledo Master Plan and seeking to build on its momentum, a small team led by the Toledo Design Center, a local planning and design advocacy nonprofit, was assembled to create a proposal for a Toledo 2040 Comprehensive Plan. This 2040 Plan would replace Toledo's last comprehensive plan, completed in 2000. Four sections will comprise the session: 1. Toledo context 2. Downtown Toledo Master Plan 3. Toledo 2040 Plan proposal, and 4. Discussion and feedback.
