This session will discuss the most common needs and desires that have to be evaluated when planning improvements to public streets. The session will discuss numerous case studies including how options were evaluated and tradeoffs considered. The Richland Avenue Improvement Project will be described in detail that included SR 682 roundabout and important bicycle and pedestrian connectivity between Ohio University, downtown Athens, and the South Richland Avenue corridor. Finally, the session will discuss solid planning and decision making processes that can be used, along with funding options and approaches.
