This two part session explores MPO practices in public involvement and covers topics such as the public involvement plan, messaging for MPOs, outreach strategies, and incorporation of data.  In Part 1, Metro shares their interactive online Regional Snapshots Program, GPATS discusses the outcome of their collection of 30,000 public outreach data points as part of their long range plan update, Horizon 2040, and Broward MPO illustrates how targeted outreach helped gain consensus on the need for a project which had been engulfed in 30 years of controversy.  Part 2 of this session takes place Wednesday afternoon.
