  • Essential steps in a planning process
  • Several tools for bringing people together to support progressive transportation projects
  • How new tools and transportation options are changing planning outcomes

The North Station Area Mobility Action Plan is the first neighborhood-centric transportation plan after the city's ambitious and progressive Go Boston 2030 plan. See how new community engagement techniques are helping to build support for projects - such as pedestrian zones, protected bike lanes, and bus lanes - that normally might encounter resistance. NSAMAP used techniques more common in the nonprofit and community-organizing realm to define neighborhoods problems, winnow solutions to a manageable number, and create a well-supported mobility action plan.
