Minimum parking requirements (MPRs) are mandates which specify the quantity of parking that must accompany a new facility. Just like the cities outside of our gates, we have MPRs for each of our nearly 300,000 buildings. At the time they were codified, the data that fed these requirements was the best available. Today that is no longer the case. The advances of high-resolution satellite imagery and artificial intelligence warrant a reassessment into these outdated, unsustainable metrics.
