Workshop participants will experience firsthand how three residential developers successfully blended Galveston Island’s natural environment with the building demands of creating new residential communities. Teaming with natural resource specialists and nonprofit partners, these developers achieved win-win scenarios in which residential properties are enhanced by surrounding ecosystems and protected for generations to come. These Galveston Island West End developments have leveraged required environmental mitigation obligations to enhance the value and appeal of their developments for prospective and neighboring residents and visitors alike. Attendees are assured to gain a fundamental understanding of successful environmental mitigation and ideas about opportunities for promoting similar creative solutions within their own communities.
