Overview

The Texas Legislature will start accepting bills shortly after the conference. Cities, including planners, should be aware of how the process works and what implications legislative actions may have for city planning. This session will outline the process and identify ways planners can follow the process, contact legislative staff, and tell the planning story.

Attendees will learn:

1. Understand the legislative process.

2. Understand implications "non-related" bills may have on planning.

3. Understand how to contact officials, be prepared with information and pass on the information about the benefits of planning.
