Overview

Great parks don't just happen! They must reflect the communities they serve and support an appropriate variety of events and activities. Learn about the community-based process that led to the creation and success of two southern Indiana parks: Jeffersonville's Big 4 Bridge Station Park, developed from a 19th century railroad bridge; and the newly-opened Parklands of Jasper, a 75-acre natural destination park in the heart of the city.

Speakers will discuss the planning and neighborhood engagement to create these destination parks. Session attendees will enjoy a tour of the Parklands of Jasper.
