Addressing corridor mobility and safety needs in a time of limited resources requires innovative approaches to systems planning. Drawing on the success of previous INDOT and MPO project collaborations, the INDOT Vincennes District and the Evansville MPO partnered on two corridor studies, on SR 62/SR 66 and on US 41. The purpose of the studies is to assess existing and future conditions and develop strategies to improve traffic operations and safety that consider alternative approaches to intersection configurations or controls, changes to the state and local network, and access management techniques. Engineers from Lochmueller Group and Stantec, the consultants on the projects, will discuss the corridor studies from concept to implementation.
