Overview

The master plan is one of the most important policy documents

developed by a community and elected and appointed officials

play a critical role from start to finish. Understanding the

purpose of the plan and the required and optional contents,

as well as the typical process for developing the plan, will help

local leaders create a truly visionary –and implementable! –

plan. This session includes tips for collaboration between the

planning commission and the city or village council or township

board, and an overview of the plan adoption process. Bring your

local team and learn together!
