Overview

 

This presentation discusses the past, present and the future of motorized recreation in Connecticut. In this session, members of the Connecticut Off Road Enthusiasts Coalition Board of Directors will explore what motorized recreation is, who participates in this form of outdoor recreation, its financial impacts (both local and statewide) and community impacts. It is also the intention of this presentation to explain what the Connecticut Off Road Enthusiasts Coalition is and why such an organization is vital to future of outdoor recreation in Connecticut through planning and trail design to create a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

 

-          COREC will initially identify the type of people that enjoy the outdoors in this fashion, explain and provide proof of positive outcomes within communities nationwide and what it can do for our youth and local economies. COREC will also explore the financial impacts from this form of recreation. How much money is spent in other states by Connecticut residents to recreate legally and who benefits from it.

 

 -          COREC will provide information as to why its organization can assist with and contribute to the planning design expertise required to create a properly managed motorized recreation system.
