The ever-changing sustainable design approach is entering a revolution. What if buildings could be designed to make a positive contribution to the environment? This presentation will discuss recent concepts in low carbon design and the roadmap to achieve regenerative design as well as benchmarking building performance measurements utilizing carbon metrics. Lastly, the presentation will present preliminary strategies and methodologies to achieve regenerative design through an integrated process and early energy modeling.

Course Learning Objectives

1.     Describe the difference between sustainable buildings and regenerative buildings

2.     Apply different benchmarking strategies for buildings

3.     Define processes to measure low carbon buildings and current limitations

4.     Discuss methodologies and key strategies to achieve regenerative design buildings
