Planners will learn about their roles as long range planners on aspects of land use and planning to solve evolving issues in waste management. Connecticut faces a major trash problem and over the past few years CT DEEP has teamed up with over 30 Connecticut municipalities to fund an evaluation of the benefits and feasibility of implementing a Save Money and Reduce Trash (SMART) program in their community.
