Session Block 1 - Signs, Signs....Everywhere Signs!
Thursday, November 1, 2018
9:40 a.m. - 11:10 a.m. PDT
CM | 1.50

With the U.S. Supreme Court’s Reed v. Town of Gilbert decision, cities, property owners, and courts are figuring out how to regulate, design, and interpret signs of all stripes. Murals, digital displays, and yard signs have different implications for city planning, but are all forms of speech protected by the First Amendment. This session will discuss the major issues in sign regulation today and how local codes can adapt to trends in signs and Constitutional law.
