This fast-paced and engaging seminar presents modules that educate experienced land-use planners on the current case law on Reed v. Town of Gilbert and other legal considerations, regulating electronic message centers, emergent technologies such as smart cities and smart signs, and regulations that encourage creative design. Coming up with beneficial and effective sign regulations and policies is often a complex and controversial process. With so many community stakeholders caring about sign codes, it is important to get the most accurate, up-to-date information and expertise possible. In light of the challenges imposed by the Supreme Court Reed ruling, hear important up-to-date post-Reed decisions and other legal considerations. Learn how jurisdictions are creating policies and regulations that encourage creative sign designs.
