Alabama Association of Regional Councils/Fall Training Conference
Monday, October 19, 2009, 1 p.m.
Wednesday, October 21, 2009, noon CDT
Montgomery, AL, United States
At this conference, attendees will learn that: A. The current economic downturn has given all communities the opportunity to look inward, forward and plan for more sustainable growth and development. B. Good urban design does have, and will continue to have tremendous power to enhance the value and longevity of the built environment and the health of communities. C. The Federal government will play a vital role in shaping our communities through transportation programs and funding, and through the stimulus program. Good planning can be the major factor in determining whether these programs and funding have a positive or benign effect on the health of communities.
