The Akron Section of APA Ohio has scheduled a Planning and Zoning Day-long Workshop that will include such topics as the roles and responsibilities of planning and zoning officials, the Complete Streets and Green Infrastructure toolkit and best practices for non-urban and large urban communities, and new tools for plan and zoning code review and the best local land use practices recommended for land use and zoning provisions that local governments can implement. This training workshop will provide attendees with opportunities to learn new methods to work with the public, revised regulations for the health and safety of their constituents and offer an opportunity to network with others in the planning and land use fields. The speakers are experienced in their planning and zoning professions and experts in the fields covering their topics. A session on Ethics will include a discussion for local officials as well as seasoned AICP professionals. Legally defensible sign regulations will be discussed, as well as current case law on signs and land use. AICP CMs and CLEs approval are pending.
