San Diego, CA,
The Transit-Oriented Development Implementation Forum is being held by the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) as part of a regional dialogue about the future of the San Diego region. The TOD Implementation Forum will discuss barriers to implementing TOD, identify potential solutions, and providing input on how SANDAG and local governments can work with the private sector to facilitate development projects near transit. The Forum features a series of presentations, panel discussions, and case studies from national experts in TOD planning and infill development. Specific topics addressed by the workshop include: urban form, density and land use; financing infrastructure and community facilities; housing choices and affordability; CEQA streamlining and travel forecasting; travel options, mobility management, and access enhancements; and readiness criteria and metrics for transit-oriented districts. The TOD Implementation Forum is part of SANDAG's Regional TOD Strategy, which will identify how residential and commercial development projects can help meet the region's projected population and employment growth. The Regional TOD Strategy will provide a set of actions to realize the vision of a healthier, sustainable community.
