Building Teams and Public Support for Creative Placemaking
Monday, March 20, 2017
9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. EDT
Morristown, NJ, United States
This event is two workshops. Building Teams will take place from 9:30 to 12:30. Building Support will take place from 1:30 to 4:30. You can register for either one or both. Any ticket includes lunch.
Both workshops address critical issues in the growing field of creative placemaking. Creative placemaking is a planning discipline that focuses on arts and culture as vehicles for community improvement, economic enhancement, and creating more adaptable and resilient communities.
Most planners are expected to work in – and often, lead – teams. But few planners are trained in the group development theory and methods. The Building Teams workshop will help planners organize and nurture individuals to become high-performing team members.
Building public support will show planners how to engage arts and artists to inform and generate support for planning-related interventions.
