The objective of this event is to educate planners and members of related professions about the Hometown Democracy amendment to the Florida Constitution and how it affects the comprehensive planning and development process. The event will feature a presentation from the General Council of the Florida Department of Community Affairs along with the author of the amendment. Both presenters will provide an analysis of the amendment and the pros and cons associated with the amendment. There will also be a discussion of how the amendment came about and why the author finds the amendment necessary and possible resolutions to cited areas of concern.
