Overview

The objective of this summit is to educate Public and Private Transportation providers, human service agencies, health care agencies, the faith-based community, planners and associated professionals and the general public on issues affecting transportation such as; a. Nova2010 Decentralization Project (Tallahasse Transit Plan) b. Possible changes in Medicaid Funding impact transportation c. Transit Best Practices for Human Service Coordination d. What is Human Services Transportation Coordination e. Grant opportunities for Grant Opportunities for Human Services Transportation Coordination f. Grant Opportunities for Employment Related Transportation g. The Commuter Services of North Florida Program 2. To form a Human Service Transportation Coalition that will work together to improve transportation services and create new initiatives that will provide better and more efficient transportation services that will meet the needs of transportation disadvantaged populations including older adults, disabled persons and/or those with lower income. 3. To conduct a Human Service Transportation Needs Assessment that will identify gaps of services in transportation for disadvantaged populations 4. To brainstorm and come up with new ideas and initiatives on how human service agencies, health care agencies, the faith-based community and the general public can assist with the provision of transportation services.
