Overview

This one-day workshop will further educate locally appointed and elected municipal officials and community based organizations about the Redevelopment Process. More specifically, this course will: Discuss the roles and responsibilities of participants in the redevelopment process; Provide illustrative examples of short and long term impacts that planning board decisions may and have produced on developing, distressed and/or vibrant communities and downtown corridors; and Identify and explain legislation, regulatory tools and incentives that are used in the redevelopment process. Finally, this course will provide grassroots organizations with information that will enable them to sufficiently communicate with participants in the redevelopment process when initiatives are envisioned, initiated, or under way in their communities.
