The October 16, 2012 Northeast Florida Transportation Planning Applications Forum meeting informed the members about a variety of items of interest to the field of planning. The first presentations focused on the 2011 transit on board survey results. This data analysis allowed us to paint a picture of current transit riders as well as identify some of the transit needs in the future. The second topic of discussion focused on managed lanes on the interstate system in the Jacksonville area. Several state roads are being analyzed and the presentation will discuss which segments are more than likely going to be affected and in what time frame. The third presentation educated us about the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (Map 21). The presentation focused on how this act will affect planning and funding methods for transit projects. The fourth topic focused on mobility issues in the historic city of Saint Augustine. The identified mobility alternatives were discussed as well as the public participation process during this study.
