This month's topic, "Los Angeles, Planned and Unplanned?" will focus on planned and unplanned growth and development of the Los Angeles area. Dr. David Sloane will provide an overview and his thoughts on planning in Los Angeles. Todd Gish will present his findings which suggest that the idea of Los Angeles is an unplanned city are all but myth. Dr. Meridith Drake Reitan will read from her book, "The City as a Textbook." So, love it, or hate it, or both, the City of Angels has a long history of planning and plans. Many of those plans were created by nationally prominent professionals. These professionals utilized the best practices of their day, attempting to shape our booming metropolis.
