Overview

1000 Friends of Florida and the Everglades Foundation are partnering on this free "emergency" webinar. Tens of billions of gallons of dangerously polluted water is rushing into the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee Rivers, damaging the environment and threatening human health. Thousands of people have staged protests and elected officials are taking note of the crisis. Part of the solution is the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP). On August 15, the South Florida Water Management District gave initial approval of the CEPP. During this webinar we will discuss the current crisis and its impact throughout the ecosystem, the importance of CEPP, what other projects need to be completed, and the next steps we need to take to protect America's Everglades. This webinar presents a substantive discussion with key staff of The Everglades Foundation on the challenges and solutions involving the Florida Everglades.
