Overview

The Northeast Florida Transportation Forum is held two to three times a year for planning professionals in the Northeast Florida Region. The focus is current transportation planning initiatives, transportation planning issues, and updates to regional planning activities in the Northeast Florida area. The forum includes presentations by leading planning professionals from throughout the area. The agenda includes the following presentations: Introduction Meet Ameera Sayeed (Growth and Development/Modeling Coordinator, FDOT District 2) in her new role at FDOT. (10 min)  Managed Lanes An update on managed lane projects in Northeast Florida with James Bennett(Urban Transportation Development Manager, FDOT-District 2) and what the future holds for managed lanes in Northeast Florida. (25 min)  An Update on the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) Denise Bunnewith (Planning Director, North Florida TPO) and Terry Shaw (HNTB) with an update on progress with the LRTP and the ABM efforts. (25 min)  Public Engagement Victoria Pennington will be introducing new and interesting public engagement strategies. (25 min)  Updates to FDOT Manuals Gary Sokolow (Access Management and Site Impact Analysis, FDOT-Systems Planning) from Central Office with information about updated transportation manuals. (25 min) Additionally, there will be an opportunity to network and learn from other planning professionals working in the region. There are over 200 planning professionals that are registered to receive invites to the forum, with 30 to 50 percent in attendance each time.
