1000 Friends of Florida has convened a panel of experts to discuss ethics requirements and aspirations for planners, attorneys, elected officials and other public servants in Florida. The current chair of the Ethics Committee of the American Institute of Certified Planners, Valerie Hubbard, FAICP, will begin the discussion with a review of that organization’s Code of Ethics, with which all certified planners are required to comply. Attorney and planner Susan Trevarthen, Esq., FAICP, will follow with a discussion of state and local ethics in Florida, outlining requirements for planners, attorneys and elected officials. Tom Pelham, FAICP, also an attorney and planner, will conclude with a discussion of Aspirational Ethics, focusing on goals which all public servants should strive to meet. The session will conclude with a question and answer period.
