Overview

Art is a placemaking tool offering innovation and creativity that can transform bland and/or unsafe spaces into Instagram and Facebook postings. Art attracts energy, tells a story and is hip. Public art contributes to the sense of place and identity, changing how the area functions and is perceived. This walking tour presents a myriad of public art examples throughout downtown Jacksonville. Projects range from painting exterior walls on parking garages to installing colored tiles on knee walls in an area park. The tour is being held in conjunction with the monthly Art Walk, to further showcase how these spaces can be activated with people.
