Learn about native wildflowers and other native plants on this informative walk through woodlands and through a restored sandhill (a threatened ecosystem in our area). Learn about the importance of controlled burns in maintaining ecological communities in North Florida. On this guided walk, planners will learn about the ecological importance of native plants in their native environment and the importance of properly managing and protecting such areas in an urbanizing area. In addition, planners will gain familiarity with some native plants that are desirable for incorporating into landscape plans in the built environment.
