The buildings of Balboa Park were designated as Historic District #1 by the City of San Diego in 1967. In 1977 it was added to the National Register of Historical Places and as a National Register Landmark District. Preservation architect and author David Marshall will provide a tour of Balboa Park highlighting elements from the 1915 and 1935 expositions. The 90-minute tour will not only address the architecture of the park, but will discuss the planning and politics of the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. Images of long lost Balboa Park buildings will also be shown in historic postcard views.
